Pediatrician
The pediatrician is the medical specialist who provides coverage for urgent consultations and care, i.e., all pediatric and neonatal emergencies (pediatric and neonatal intensive care, resuscitation, etc.), infectious problems (shock, meningitis, sepsis, etc.), poisonings, convulsions, traumas, respiratory insufficiencies, etc.
The pediatrician is also involved in all aspects of the medical care of children suffering from more or less complex pathologies such as diabetes, cystic fibrosis of the pancreas, asthma, metabolic disorders, developmental problems, motor deficits, learning disabilities, heart disease, inflammatory diseases, etc.
In addition to a growing involvement with children in difficult situations - child protection, sexual abuse, socio-legal problems, parental separation, etc. - pediatricians are called upon to participate in prevention and training programs for children.
