The general surgeon is the specialist who operates mainly on conditions affecting the digestive tract, abdomen and its components, breasts, skin and soft tissue, and the endocrine system.
The general surgeon evaluates, investigates and treats pathologies of the systems listed above that require surgery. Their training is such that they are the main actor in the management of polytrauma patients.
